How to Choose the Right Diaper Size for Your Baby
A simple guide to diaper sizes by weight, the signs your baby needs to size up, and tips to prevent leaks and rashes.

The right diaper size keeps your baby comfortable, prevents leaks and protects delicate skin. Because babies grow quickly, it is normal to change sizes several times in the first year.
Choose by weight, not age
Every baby grows at a different pace, so weight is the most reliable guide. Always check the weight range printed on the pack. As a general guide:
- Small (S): newborns and smaller babies
- Medium (M): growing babies who have outgrown small
- Large (L): active, crawling babies
- Extra Large (XL): toddlers and bigger babies
If your baby is at the top of one range and the bottom of the next, choose the bigger size – especially for night time.
Signs it is time to size up
- Red marks on the tummy or thighs from the waistband or leg cuffs
- The tabs only just reach the centre of the waistband
- Frequent leaks, even after a fresh change
- The diaper no longer covers your baby’s bottom fully
Tips to prevent leaks
- Fasten tabs evenly on both sides – snug, but you should fit two fingers under the waistband.
- Pull out the leg cuffs after fastening so they are not tucked in.
- For boys, point downwards before fastening.
- Change every 3–4 hours and straight after a dirty diaper.
Caring for your baby’s skin
Clean gently with water or baby wipes at every change and let the skin air-dry for a minute before putting on a fresh diaper. If redness lasts more than a couple of days, speak to your doctor.
Evora Premium Baby Diapers come in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large with up to 12 hours of leakage protection.
